That translation project: Kimi ni Arigatou

Third song I’ve translated so far! This time, it’s one of my favorite songs by Aki-chan! :D

Have been wanting to translate this for a long time. The song’s so good!

Title: Kimi ni Arigatou
Artist: Aki Toyosaki

I wonder how much time has passed since the day I met you.
You let me know the feelings you couldn’t speak out.

I walked together with you on the path between the rice fields dyed by the twilight
On a faraway street, that day I decided to persist alone.

Thank you, because you were always laughing by my side.
Even on days when tears overflowed, when it looked like I would lose,
I have always gotten over them.
I will never forget how warm your warmth is.
Because I look at the sky that links me to you when I feel lonely and want to see you.

Your joyful face, your child-like playful appearance,
I remember all of them as if it was yesterday.

I wanted to be with you more, I wonder if you could have been more gentle.
Those days which you said you loved me and embraced me appear clearly.

Thank you, because I think of you at all times.
You believed in me with a straightforward gaze, which made me stronger.
I will never forget how I called your name.
Because I look at the sky you sleep in when I’m unable to meet you in my dreams.

Thank you, because you were always laughing by my side.
Even on days when tears overflow, when it looks like I would lose, I will definitely get over them.
I will never forget how warm your warmth is.
Because I look at the sky when I feel lonely and want to see you.

Thank you, for always watching over me.

Wasn’t really a hard song to translate, except some figurative parts which I had to spend some time figuring out the phrase that sounded right.

In any case, tired now after translating. It’s already 2 am here, gosh.

Do tell me if I’ve made any mistakes in translating, I’m sure I’ve made some ’cause I was translating while being really tired.

And here’s the song on YouTube:

Presenting all these translations in five days!
